An experienced counselor/therapist, born and raised in The Netherlands.
After many years of substance abuse and related inpatient and outpatient therapy, I finally found my way towards happiness, health, and well-being. The therapeutic work helped me to turn my life around and become the person I wanted to be. This life-changing experience inspired me to study and work in the therapeutic field and help other people improve their own well-being.
My Approach
My psychotherapy work encompasses a broad range of approaches, including person-centered, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness. My specialization is CBT, an evidence-based approach that can help you make substantial changes in a short space of time. CBT empowers you to become your own therapist, so you can continue making progress independently once our work has concluded.
Helping people forward is my passion. I am highly flexible. We would work together to find a personalized approach that works best for you to help you get to where you want to be. I help people develop coping skills, build confidence and self-esteem, identify and adapt unhelpful thought patterns and belief systems, manage stress, and process issues both past and present. I also support people with much broader goals, such as finding themselves, developing a sense of purpose and meaning, and increasing overall mental and emotional well-being.
The people I support come from all walks of life and all around the world.
I feel that recovery is about so much more than simply fixing your problems. Since recovering from my own mental health challenges, my life has become rich and meaningful.
